Knitting a Pair of Gloves

I haven’t knitted in a very long time and after many starts and stops (it’s been a VERY long time) I am finally in the grove again. I am making a pair of gloves from a book by Robin Melanson titled Knitting New Mittens and Gloves. This book is filled with lovely designed mittens and gloves and I wished I had all the time in the world to make a pair of each.

I have chosen the Glaistig design as my first pair. They are constructed out of an English Mesh Lace Pattern. I think I have lost my mind as I am teaching myself how to knit lace as I go along, hence the start and stop approach. I am using a bamboo silk combination yarn in a light shade of steel blue. Blue is not my usual color, but I have a navy jacket that I wanted a new pair of gloves for and the light blue color is a very nice contrast. Once I finish them I will post a picture.

OOO! No pressure like putting it out as a challenge on your blog! That sounds like a project to loose ones mind over... you go girl! I can't wait to see them. Everything you touch turns to beauty. I am sure they will be gorgeous!

These are lovely. I am so envious of people that can kit. My grandmother tried to teach me but its so difficult to teach us lefties. Out came the mirrors, and the counting backwards. Luckily for me cross stitch and tapestry came easier.
